2009 – Kosovo: Can You Imagine? A documentary by Boris Malagurski. Malagurski explores and explains the real causes and effects of the US occupation of Kosovo. Tito’s agreement with Hoxha resulted in the over-settling of Albanianss into the Kosovo region of historic Serbia. This was done in connection with other agreements, and in an attempt, however ill conceived, to resolve post-Ottoman geostrategic matters within the context of Westphalian nation-state building on the lines of ethnic and religious constructs. While this was complicated initially by the nature of actions taken by both the Albanians and the Yugoslavians, the US and NATO in the 90’s instigated Albanian militias to attack. This was a war campaign of genocide, ethnic cleansing, and territorial acquisition against Serbia. Western media, predictably, and in lockstep with the US Empire, focused on Serbian responses to this assault and painted these as Serbian provocations.

The film shows how serial US intervention, overt and covert, has toppled a series of legitimate governments in the Latin American region since the 1950s. The democratically elected Chilean government of Salvador Allende, for example, was ousted by a US backed coup in 1973 and replaced by the military dictatorship of General Pinochet.
